Your home is never a passive backdrop

Welcome to Home Therapy™ with Michelle Ogundehin

The guiding ethos of Home Therapy™ is that our homes are far more than places we live. For better or worse they have the power to shape how we sleep, focus, recover, connect and feel. I prefer the former! So these emails explore the science, psychology and actions that can help you to transform your home into your greatest source of health.

The most practical and achievable way that I can help you to create lasting change is to work with you through your home room by room. But I've realised that when we look at bedrooms, the work isn't simply about bedrooms. It's about rest and recovery. When we look at hallways, it isn't only about hallways. It's about the ability to manage change (boundaries and transitions). Likewise the bathroom isn't just about bathrooms. It's about renewal and self care.

In other words, the rooms are simply the lens through which we explore something much bigger: the fundamental human needs that every home has the potential to support, from a need for safety, communion, belonging to self-expression and more.

Plus, I realised something else, as we cycle through the seasons, an important question to ask ourselves is: what do we need from our homes at this point in the year?

Perhaps rest and recovery in the height of summer. Renewal as autumn arrives. Preparation before winter. Connection as we gather indoors. Reflection at the year's end. Nourishment through the depths of winter. Purpose as the new year finds its rhythm. Clarity in spring. Growth and belonging as the world opens up once again.

The room remains the practical focus. But the conversation begins with the life we're trying to support. Because Home Therapy™ has never really been about decorating. It's about understanding how home quietly shapes the way you live, and who you are becoming. So, what might change if your home became your greatest source of health?

I'd love to show you.
